Happy Birthday S.Z.!

Yes, it's the natal anniversary of our beloved friend s.z. Authoress, founder of World O' Crap, and human Humane Society, she's also the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being I've ever known in my life, unless you show her the Queen of Diamonds, then watch out.

As a 15-year veteran of the CIA Office of Counter-intelligence, she's naturally camera shy and security conscious; fortunately, I have a copy of her last known photograph:
The world's leading Supermodel/Astronaut/Spy briefing two of her rescue cats/intelligence assets.

Happy birthday, s.z.!  You've enriched more lives, in ways both big and small, than you'll ever be willing to admit, and I don't know where you find the strength or the time, especially since you have to go to all the trouble of removing one of those enormous clip-on earrings every time you want to use the phone, which has to cut into an already busy schedule.

  1. At least they're clip-ons. Unscrewing them could really cut into the schedule.

    Many happy & many more!

  7. Happy birthday! Someday, s.z., your life will make it onto the silver screen. While I claimed dibs on the screenplay years ago, I happily relinquish said dibs to Scott, a person who actually knows how to write screenplays. Maybe instead I could have a walk-on carrying a load of cats?

  8. Happy Birthday, sz.
Thank you for this blog and for all the laffs. I am deeply appreciative, truly. Thank you also for BLTBM which resides in a special place on my bookshelf. Not that I'm nagging but there's room for another volume.
And deep gratitude for rescuing the poor kittehs. They need the love; you bring it.

  9. Well, sz! The combination of International Female of Mystery and Avatar of Bastet on Earth is one of the best job descriptions I know of. Therefore it's a good thing a really superior human owns it! And will for all foreseeable birthday days to come. We, and the kitties, all thank you! Happy Birthday!!!

  10. Happy Birthdays S.Z.-- wrangler of kittehs, writer of extremely good summaries of bad movies! A long, happy and healthy life to you. And I can't wait until the second book comes out.

  11. Happy birthday, sz! If I have an internet home, it's here, and thank you for building it out of Ann Coulter jokes and pet stories.

As for the earrings, I'd suggest a shoe phone, but a stiletto heel in the ear seems like a bad idea.

May your day be full of cool banter with arch villains and martinis, shaken, not stirred.

  15. Ms. z.

As I have pointed out elsewhere, I don't do natal anniversaries well.
But what I would like to do is help some of your wee ones. Is there a means to send your rescue group some donations?

Thanks again for all you do and all you have done to help us get through this World O' Crap

  16. Dave, I just spoke with s.z. to convey everyone's birthday wishes (she's having computer problems -- the cats have chewed up just about every cord in the house), and confirmed that donations can be made through her paypal account: Radarss-at-aol.com (named for the MST3K episode Radar Secret Service, don't ask me why).

  17. Hey Scott,

I'm getting a "This recipient is currently unable to receive money" error.

Can you see if s.z. has an open account?

Or if worst comes to worst a snail mail check would work (need to know who and where to make it out to. I think you have my email if you want to keep it private).

    Thanks.

  18. Dave, I'll try to get the PP issue worked out, but in the meantime, I just sent you an email with the relevant info.
