Post-Friday Beast Blogging: The Paws That Refreshes Edition
MOONDOGGIE: No, sure, we can watch The Walking Dead, that's okay...And, um, if you want to hold my hand during the scary parts, you can...I don't mind.
RILEY: Yeah. If I had a finger I'd be sooo flipping you off right now...
I love the Moondoggie/Riley posts, they remind me of the days when I had a yellow lab (Gypsy, named after everyone's favorite Richard Basehart loving automaton) and a Belgian shepherd (Damien, named after the antichrist, naturally). Same color scheme as Moondoggie and Riley, and similar personalities. Both have long since passed on, but the Moondoggie/Riley pictures bring back pleasant memories.
As I think I once related, we had an enormous tuxedo kitty years ago (alas, she should be here with us at this hour) who had a Moondoggie personality -- sweet, mellow (except for occasional wrestling matches with the tablecloth), smart and a bit overimaginative, and a firm believe in the Better-Safe-Than-Sorry principle. You could *always* have held her paw thru the scary parts. These Riley-Moondoggie posts bring her right back. Her name was Ratskitty-Watskitty, taking off on the name of the unknown dad in "Miracle of Morgan's Creek". Rat for short. ari

Alternate caption for Riley:
"Ah, atsamatta for you?"

No idea where that "ari" came from. Maybe I'm channeling Israelis.
Doc Logan's alternate caption is good, but I was thinking more of Moe (three stooges) Howard's clenched fist and accompanying "why I oughta--" threat.

Tuxedo joke incoming--
Two penguins, one says to the other, "you know, you look like you're wearing a tuxedo," and the other penguin says, "what makes you think I'm not?"
Ba-dump-bum.
