I was thrilled -- as I'm sure you guys were -- to hear that our friend KWillow is on the mend from emergency surgery, thanks to the Miracle of Modern Morphine® (now with Retsyn™, Chlorinol-3, and Flavor Crystals®!)! But I'd barely had time to heave a sigh of relief, when Annti emailed to tell me that the Universe has decided to sneak up behind another esteemed member of the Crapper Community and clout him over the head with the ACME Clown Hammer of Fate™ (Reg. U.S. Pat. Off.).
Realist, who has been enlivening the Comments at WO'C for many years, has been struck twice in quick succession by the Lighting Bolt of Bad News® (sorry for the excessive branding, but if there's one thing I've learned from Google, it's to patent everything), which entitles him to tell Probability to go suck it, but otherwise has no obvious upside. The unhappy gist of it all is that his wife, Madame Realist, recently suffered two potentially fatal health problems which put her in the hospital (she's still there, at last report) and required major surgery.
I understand the prognosis is optimistic, but Annti figured a little support and positive energy couldn't hurt, and asked that we post a virtual Get Well card and send our "best wishes, kindest thoughts, and depthless wealth of love" to the Realists. So if you can, please drop a comment below.
Thanks everyone. Keep safe, stay well, and barring any further disasters, we should be getting back to regular blogging in the next day or so.

Yikes, glad KW is better.
And now Mrs. Realist. Two problems, yet. Yeesh. Hope 2013 straightens up & things go better for all involved.
Best wishes, Mrs. Realist, and to the Mr. as well.

Far from being fastidious, I am often fractious, just to prove my point. Whatever that might be on any given day.
But I digress...
Get better, kids, and... (sorry)
keep it Real!
Dear Realists
Sorry to hear about your troubles.I hope that the Mrs is feeling better and that the Best Healthcare System in the World (TM)has her back to feeling Real real soon.
Stay strong.
All the best.

Perhaps a little Monty Python will bring their spirits up. :)

I can't speak FOR Realist or Madame Realist, but just for me, thank you all SO MUCH for all of your *truly* depthless wealth of love, that makes Wo'C the delightfully bizarro family that it is.
And Scott, you are one of my favorite writers, EVER, (in case you didn't already know that, right) and I can never truly thank you ENOUGH for all that you've done for me and for ALL Wo'Crappers, except to say that you (along with Mary, Sheri, and all of the Crappers!) hold the title to my truck and a lien on a big chunk of my soul and I wouldn't have it any other way, unless I could FINALLY hit the Powerball or, fates forfend, get PUBLISHED somehow, and return the multitude of favors six-fold...
I just hope that Realist, amongst the still-harried crush of work/physical-rehab-hospital time/dealing-with-LIFE shit, gets a chance to come over here soon and soak-up all of this sincerely amazing love, care, concern and friendship.
And Deb! Python, like Terry Pratchett, is ALWAYS a welcome diversion, and your taste, as always, is flawless! Thanks to each and every one of you for your kindness & love, and I figure that Realist will be around shortly to say something along those lines, at least I certainly hope he can.
After watching "ALL THAT JAZZ" last night, & as camp/farce/sardonic as it is, not to mention PLENTY OF TITTIES and WELL-FILLED DANCE BELTS - !!! - I can only BEGIN to imagine the skeery, horrifying shit that Madame Mentis has undergone, as well as what Realist himself went through a coupla years ago... but thankfully, unlike Roy Scheider's/Bob Fosse's character, we got to KEEP HIM, *AND* the Mrs.!
(***WHEW!***)
May your recovery be swift and painless! May the Hospital food be tasty! Hopefully, the Kitchen will not read your allergy to "weeds" as an allergy to "wheat" and not give you toast with breakfast, only one lonely pat of butter. mmmmmm... butter...
mmmhhhmmmmm... yeaaaahhhh.... riiiighhhttt... MOTRIN, suuuuurrre.... heh heh heh... just motrin...
'List, brother, I hope things get better for you and the Mrs soon. And Willow? Glad to hear your back o your feet. It takes a lot of gall to post here.

BAD PUN!!! BAD ACTOR!!! BAD PUN, NO BISCUIT!!!
Dear Mme. Realist, I hope you don't wind up staying in Hospital any longer than than absolutely necessary -- it's usually much easier to get better in the comfiness of one's own home-Reality! And a big, virtual bouquet of tulips and daffodils to you.
Best wishes to the Realist family. Here's hoping they get through and put it well behind them quickly.
I am glad for recoveries (hey Kat + Annti, glad to hear things are looking brighter) and am wishing for nothing but recovery for the Realists.
Best and health.
To Ms. Realist (and Mr. Realist and any little Realists running around) here's hoping your stay within the clutches of the Best Health Care System in the World™ (Reg. Suezboo) is short and that you have a complete recovery.
Oh, and if anyone knows where I can get some of ol' Doc McNesses' Mentholated Cough Syrup I would be much obliged. Don't think it would actually cure what ails me but...
WDave, sweetheart, they hadda stop manufacturing that stuff what cures what ails YOU, honey, the lab rats kept getting embarrassing elephantisis and humping everything with fur!
Get well soon, Mrs Realist. I'll light a candle and keep you in my thoughts, both of you.
Thanks for the well-wishes, everybody. Julie's feeling much better, although she's still in a "rehab facility" - what we used to call a "nursing home" back in the day. She's eating again, but still on oxygen and enduring dialysis three times a week. Right now her goal is to be able to get from a wheelchair into our car in the parking lot so I can bring her kitties to visit. Baby steps.
:::Willing, with what few brain cells still function and aren't distracted by outright hatred & rage against a piece-of-shit convenience-store clerk who got my house broken-into 3 weeks ago and then threatened my LIFE tonight (Sunday), to be TOTALLY narcissistic about the this comment; TRULY AND SINCERELY willing Jules the strength, fortitude, recovery & health to get as much kitteh-lovin' as is humanly appropriate, preferably at her own home, where she can wallow wif kittehs all damned day long!!! All my love & the closest thing to "hope" that I can approximate, A.S.C./J:::
